Method 1:

This is the simplest and easiest method to make a cardstock envelope. For this, you need cardstock paper, tape, and glue. Get the double-sized paper that you need for an envelope. The standard size of 8.5 by 11 inches will be fine for you; now, cut it in half if you want to make a smaller envelope.

You need to fold the paper from the center to get a rectangular shape of half size of your required envelope size. Now take a left and right sides of your envelope and tape them together while keeping the top side open for inserting the letter in it.

You have now attained a rectangular shape with the lateral sides taped together and two sides open. Now take a lower side of the cardstock paper and fold it about a half-inch. Then fold that side with the backside of the envelope.

The folded flap would allow you to put the letter inside it. After placing the letter in the envelope, seal it using glue or tape or sticker if you like.

Method 2:

For this method, you need to make a template and then cut your cardstock according to it. This method ensures that your cardstock is cutout neatly when there are no wrinkles on it. First of all, determine the size of your envelope. The standard size is 8 by 11 inches. You can also make design on your pc and print the envelope design with a printer.

Now hold the template paper made in your hand and place it flat against the cardstock paper. Using a lead pencil, draw the outlines from the template paper on the cardstock. Now the outline for making the cardstock envelope is ready.

Cut the envelope using a scissor. Be careful while cutting the edges and cut them neatly. Now take the two lateral sites of cardstock paper and glue them together at the lower folded triangular corner of the envelope.

A typical shape of the envelope is created now you are ready for the last and final step but before folding the upper right corner. Allow the glue to be set and dry.

Then fold the upper corner of the envelope, and your perfect envelope is ready. Put the letter in it and then seal it using anything that you like.

Method 3:

For this, you need a paper precisely the size of your desired envelope. Fold it in a rectangular shape in the direction of length. Join the two corners of the paper and make sure that it is divided into two equal halves, lengthwise. Then fold the cardstock paper neatly with your hands.

A crease is now created in the middle of it. Then open after paper and fold the upper right corner of it along the center of the crease. The folded paper should be touching the crease of the paper. Now fold the other corner from the left side of the paper touching the center crease similarly.

Now, use your hands to make a perfect rectangular shape on both left and right sides and then old 1-inch sections from both the left and right sides of the paper, just beneath the triangles that you made. You have obtained the three packed sides of the envelope, with one side being open.

Time to take the open side and bring it close to the rectangle that you have made. Place the letter in it and then seal that open side with the rectangle using tape or glue. Now fold the rectangles over it, and your envelope is completely sealed.
